Assassin's Creed Reveals Bizarre AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre collaboration that defies traditional predictions, the game developer has announced an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Revealed
According to the official release, "A mysterious encounter leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where hints of banned practices and fearsome transformations resonate through the shadows." The narrative introduces a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a secret group.
The adventure centers on "bizarre tests and a fearsome enemy" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Changes
The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Extra Material
Players who accomplish the mission will receive an unique katana in addition to several artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Update
This release also introduces the game's newest complimentary story content, titled "The Enigma." This playful mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive techniques: Naoe reveals a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
